Caitlin Clark has a long history with golf. The WNBA Rookie of the Year recently played in a pro-am and uses the greens as a way to escape from the basketball court when things get overwhelming, such as Iowa’s loss in the championship to LSU or the Indiana Fever’s early exit from the playoffs.
During the Annike Sorrenstam pro-am, Clark almost hit someone on the head with a ball. In a podcast interview on New Heights, she shared her experience playing golf compared to basketball. Recalling the incident, she mentioned how she struggled with hitting long par threes and accidentally hitting a woman on a different hole.

Clark’s competitive nature shines through whether she’s on the basketball court or the golf course. She expressed frustration at not being as good at golf as she would like, attributing it to the individual nature of the sport.
Fans flocked to watch Clark compete at the Annika, with Golf Channel adjusting their schedule to air her game live. Despite not being a pro yet, the Iowa sensation put on a show for the audience.
PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and golfer Zach Johnson praised Clark for her competitive spirit and improvement in the game. Both agreed that Clark has a bright future in golf, despite it not being her primary sport.
