Fernando Mendoza and the Indiana Hoosiers are looking to wrap up an undefeated season by winning the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday night.

They’ll face a tough Miami Hurricanes team led by quarterback Carson Beck, which has shown it can withstand challenges, having defeated Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Ole Miss in the playoffs.

Both teams have notable alumni and supportive fans, including NFL Super Bowl winner Michael Irvin, who won a championship with the University of Miami. On the opposing side, Mark Cuban is an Indiana alumnus and is rooting for his Hoosiers to win it all.

Meanwhile, WNBA’s Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, who had recently been preparing for Team USA basketball, made it very clear where her allegiance lies for tonight’s matchup.

“Best of luck to @IndianaFootball we are all pulling for you !! Get it done,” Clark wrote in an X message on Monday afternoon, including the two hands up emoji.

Clark, who attended college in Iowa, shows support for the teams in her new home state, Indiana, since she plays for the Fever.

She attended various Indiana Pacers games throughout the season and is known to be friends with Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton. Her support clearly extends to the Indiana Hoosiers as they pursue the championship in what has been a standout season.

Clark suffered multiple injuries during her sophomore season in the WNBA. She participated in just 13 regular-season games and missed all of her team’s incredible playoff run.

Clark appeared in North Carolina last month as part of Team USA’s training camp for the upcoming 2026 World Cup appearance.

Speaking to the Indianapolis Star, Clark indicated she feels much healthier as she plays for Team USA, the WNBA, or wherever else she might end up, depending on the status of the WNBA’s next season.

“I think the challenge for myself was just, it was one, and then it’s like a little better, but then it continued to compound and get worse, and other things pop up,” Clark said in her injury update, adding, “And then I had the ankle injury. So it feels nice to finally be back at 100%.”

In addition to her social media support and remarks for the Indiana Hoosiers, Clark was also among many celebrities and athletes watching the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams playoff game on Sunday night. The WNBA superstar posted a message reacting to the overtime game, saying, “The bears are insane.”
