Caitlin Clark’s groundbreaking rookie season came to a close last week as the Indiana Fever were eliminated from the WNBA playoffs in two games by the Connecticut Sun. After a busy year that started in her final season at Iowa, Clark now has some well-deserved time to unwind. She was highlighted on the latest episode of 60 Minutes on Sunday night.
During the segment, Clark was interviewed by Sports Illustrated’s Jon Wertheim. She discussed various aspects of her life, from childhood to career, and even shared what she considers her standout moment from her rookie year, which turned out to be quite unexpected.
Surprisingly, Clark’s defining moment wasn’t a game-winning shot or an impressive pass. She recounted an injury she sustained against the New York Liberty that opened her eyes to the physicality of the WNBA:
“I remember when we were in New York and Jonquel Jones set a good screen on me, causing me to rupture my eardrum,” she recalled. “She’s an incredible player, but it really highlighted the toughness of the league.”
