Many golfers often discussed how Tiger Woods’ competitive nature set him apart from the rest when they played with him. His desire to win was undeniable when he competed. Now, another transcendent and popular athlete seems to possess that same competitive spirit. Basketball superstar Caitlin Clark recently participated in a charity golf event, where her teammates noted her intense competitiveness.
Clark’s WNBA team, the Indiana Fever, organized a charity golf event called “the Fever FORE Change Fundraiser” last week. Despite the friendly nature of the competition, Clark escalated the stakes.
As the event progressed, Clark took additional shots to outmatch her teammates from the Fever.
Fever players present at the event teased Clark playfully for her competitive nature. One teammate remarked, “She just can’t let me win,” as Clark took the driver from their hand for a second shot.
Clark has demonstrated her golf skills before, having participated in the John Deere Classic Pro-Am in 2023 and finishing with a score of 5-under par. She can draw a crowd, whether at a Pro-Am or a charity event for the Fever. During the charity event, a fan had Clark hold her baby and sign a onesie for the infant.
Despite the jokes from her teammates, they are pleased with Clark’s competitive drive. She played a crucial role in transforming the worst team in the WNBA last year into playoff contenders this season. Just as Tiger Woods was instrumental in popularizing golf on the PGA Tour, Clark seems to be making waves and following in his footsteps in all her endeavors.
