Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull jokingly clapped back at her teammate, Caitlin Clark, this week for a comment Clark made about her and Sophie Cunningham earlier this year.
According to Natasha Dye and Jordan Greene of People.com, Clark commented on a photo of Hull and Cunningham that was posted on Instagram in May, writing, “Little less tanning. A little more bball ladies.”
Hull finally got her public revenge this week, telling Dye and Greene that Clark “could probably use a little sun herself!”
The 26-year-old Hull made it clear that the back-and-forth with Clark is “all in good fun,” noting that Clark likes to joke around and “make comments here and there.”
Hull added that she is “really grateful” for Clark, calling her “one of my best friends on the team.”
The Fever selected Clark No. 1 overall in the 2024 WNBA draft, and she instantly turned around the franchise’s fortunes, leading them to a 20-20 record and their first playoff appearance since 2016.
Expectations were sky high entering the 2025 campaign, but injuries limited Clark to 13 games and Cunningham to 30.
Despite that, the Fever went 24-20, which was their best record since 2015. They also made it out of the first round of the playoffs for the first time in a decade before falling to the eventual WNBA champion Las Vega Aces in the semifinals.
Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston both had big years during Clark’s absence, and if the Fever can largely keep their roster together while getting a healthy Clark back in the fold, they have the makings of being a championship contender in 2026.
