2024 marked a significant year for Caitlin Clark as she ventured into the WNBA. Reflecting on the past 12 months, her brother decided to tease her.
On Tuesday night, Clark shared a series of photos on Instagram capturing her favorite moments of 2024, including winning Rookie of the Year, concluding her illustrious tenure at Iowa, and being named Athlete of the Year by Time magazine.
In her caption, Caitlin Clark proclaimed 2024 as the “best year” while eagerly anticipating what lies ahead in 2025. Her brother Colin humorously challenged her claim in a comment on the post.
“Decent year I’d say,” Colin wrote.
In early 2024, Clark capped off her college career by becoming the all-time leading scorer in Division I history for both men and women. Subsequently, she was selected as the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Indiana Fever in the WNBA Draft.
As a rookie, Clark continued to break records and garner accolades. Apart from winning ROY, she also earned a spot in the All-Star team. With her exceptional performance, the Fever ended their playoff drought.
2024 was undoubtedly a rewarding year for Clark, and considering her trajectory, she has a promising future ahead.
Sabrina Ionescu also leaves a comment on Caitlin Clark’s Instagram post
While Caitlin Clark’s brother opted for humor in his comment, others, including New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, shared heartfelt messages with the rising star. Ionescu expressed her excitement for Clark’s journey ahead.
Aside from Caitlin Clark, 2024 also proved to be a remarkable year for Ionescu as the fellow No. 1 pick solidified her position as one of the top stars in the WNBA.
With impressive stats and accomplishments, including another All-Star selection, Ionescu played a key role in the Liberty’s WNBA title victory against the Minnesota Lynx. Furthermore, she clinched a gold medal in the Summer Olympics, adding to her championship haul in 2024.
Both Ionescu and Clark, with their on-court prowess and strong off-court presence, are poised to be prominent figures in the WNBA for the foreseeable future.
