The rivalry that many WNBA fans have talked about features Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. However, that’s not the rivalry that struck a nerve across the league last season.
The focus was once on Chennedy Carter and Clark. The Sky and Fever played a tight game on June 1, 2024, which the Fever won 71-70. During the game, Carter knocked Clark hard to the floor and was issued a flagrant foul.

With WNBA training camps starting this weekend, Carter, who was without a team, has signed with Adelitas de Chihuahua of the Mexican Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Femenil (LNBPF).
The team (Adeliatas de Chihuahua) made the news official on Saturday.
While Carter’s signing is big news, especially after a strong season in Chicago, it’s the reactions to the move that are particularly interesting. Here are some of the best:

The guard out of Texas A&M was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft. She has played in 84 games in the league, scoring 14.6 points per game. Her 2024 season was a breakout of sorts, as she appeared in a career-high 33 games and averaged 17.5 points per game.
Clark, of course, finished her rookie season last year and helped lead her team to the postseason. The former Iowa guard averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.

In that June 1 game, Clark played 37 minutes, scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The two teams met three times during the month of June, with the Fever winning two of the three matchups.
Their last meeting was on August 30, when the Fever won 100-81. Clark dominated that game, scoring 31 points and dishing out 12 assists.
