Indiana Fever star Lexie Hull has given fans a peek into the team’s pre-season antics by playfully teasing teammate Caitlin Clark. The point guard took to Instagram to share a photo with the basketball sensation, showcasing their growing friendship.
The photo captured the pair sharing a laugh during practice, with Hull teasingly captioning it: “@caitlinclark22 yapping per usual.” Hull then added a simple yet heartfelt message: “Miss it!”, highlighting the strong bond between the two players and Clark’s positive influence in the Fever locker room.
This heartwarming interaction is sure to excite fans who are eager to see their chemistry on the court when the WNBA season kicks off next year.
This is not the first time the Fever stars have engaged in friendly banter. The 22-year-old Iowa alum recently praised Hull’s dedication to the game in a comment on a Fever social media post, with Clark stating: “She’s inspiring… truly.”
The undeniable chemistry between the sports stars was evident in a candid conversation on “Convos With The W” in late November, where Hull expressed her gratitude for Clark’s impact in the team’s locker room, as reported by the Irish Star.
Although initially aiming to understand Clark better for team synergy, Hull found a genuine friend in her. “I think it was important to get to know her off the court. Because I do think that connections, getting to know people, really play a part in the success of teams,” Hull shared. “And it’s really awesome to get to know her as well, because she’s a great person.”
From their social media posts about each other to Clark wishing Hull a happy birthday in front of their fellow Fever teammates, their camaraderie is evident. Women’s Fastbreak noted that Clark and Hull, along with a few other Fever players, even took a vacation to Mexico during the WNBA’s month-long Olympics break.
Hull has not held back in praising her friend, finding humor and admiration in Clark’s personality and dedication on the court. “She just throws out comments that are funny. No one is saying it like Caitlin,” Hull said. “[Her drive to win] shows the type of player she is. If it’s not working she’s going to try and figure it out, and you definitely want her on your side.”
The dynamic duo is gearing up for the new season with a clear focus as the WNBA schedule has been confirmed. The Fever will begin their 2025 campaign at Gainbridge Fieldhouse against Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky on Saturday, May 17 at 1p.m. ET.
