It all began after Iowa Athletics revealed that presale tickets opened on February 27 for donors and season ticket holders, with prices ranging from $60 to $200. Within 45 minutes, every seat was spoken for, and demand far exceeded supply. And then, amidst the chaos, a millionaire YouTuber was requesting a seat for himself too.

His simple yet bold request—“Can I get one?”—under a post announcing the sellout sparked a wave of reactions.

For those unfamiliar, MrBeast is one of YouTube’s biggest content creators, known for his extravagant giveaways and larger-than-life stunts. However, his recent engagement with the WNBA has been, well… new. In fact, earlier this season, he admitted on social media that he had never watched a WNBA game before this year.

Well, MrBeast’s love for sports comes from his own experience. “Being a successful YouTuber, you could almost compare it… to being a professional athlete,” he once said. And it all makes more sense considering the Beast Games had him recording 15 hours a day while already accumulating more than 360 million subscribers.

And honestly, fans aren’t wrong either. Die-hard Iowa and WNBA followers who have been supporting the game for years were left empty-handed while a YouTuber with billions of views casually asked for a seat.

However, one fan did point out—“He’s the only one that can afford the ones on the secondary market.”

Clark’s homecoming is quite nostalgic for fans, as it’s the same place where they watched her emerge as a phenom. When she left Iowa, she was already the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer and the first Division I player to record 3,800 points, 1,000 assists, and 950+ rebounds in her collegiate career.
