Cameron Brink Drops Injury Update on Torn ACL Before WNBA Season

Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink is working her way back to the court after a torn ACL ended her rookie season early — and she’s feeling confident about what’s ahead.

Brink recently opened up about her recovery journey, telling fans, “I feel great” and that she’s “taking it step by step” as she approaches game action.

The update came via sports journalist Sara Jane Gameli, who posted Brink’s comments on X.

Now in her sophomore year with the Sparks, Brink added, “I’m thankful that I’m not getting any pressure from the org. The Sparks are doing a really good job of just supporting me fully through this process.”

According to ESPN’s Holly Rowe, Brink is expected to return to play before the All-Star break in June. It’s a big milestone for the 23-year-old, who was drafted No. 2 overall in 2024 and was averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in her first 15 games before the injury.

Brink tore her ACL during a game against the Connecticut Sun, forcing her to miss the final 25 games of the season. The injury also cost her a spot on the Team USA 3×3 squad for the Paris Olympics.

Brink recently talked about the moment she got hurt on her podcast, “Straight 2 Cam,” with Sydel Curry-Lee.

“When I tore my ACL, I got up and walked off the floor,” she said. “There was no wheelchair for me. I didn’t yell. I was just sitting there like, ‘Ope, that happened. Get up and walk it off.’”

While recovering, Brink hasn’t stayed out of the spotlight. She got engaged and graduated from Stanford.

Brink has resumed full training and says she’s now “back to doing everything pretty normally.”

For fans and teammates alike, Cameron Brink’s return could be one of the biggest stories of the 2025 WNBA season.
