Amidst the escalating political tensions and the looming threat of a TikTok ban in the U.S., American users are eager to maximize their usage of the app while it remains accessible. This includes LA Sparks star Cameron Brink.
Brink, who boasts a following of just over half a million on the platform, recently shared makeup-free posts that had not been previously shared.
“Posting the drafts before it’s too late, lol,” Brink humorously captioned the post.
Cameron Brink opts out of Unrivaled
It has been a tumultuous few months for the former second-overall pick in the WNBA Draft. Her promising rookie season was unfortunately cut short due to an ACL injury.
Despite this setback, Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier reached out to her and invited her to participate in their new 3-on-3 basketball tournament, Unrivaled.
Brink was among the first players added to the league’s expanded rosters, and despite her injury, she was anticipated to compete in the tournament.
However, it appears she is still not fully recovered, leading her to make the difficult decision to withdraw from the tournament.
Brink took to Instagram to announce her decision, expressing her disappointment while reaffirming her commitment to joining in the future.
“Unrivaled was kind enough to allow me to still join even though I’m still fresh in my ACL recovery,” Brink explained. “I’m sad to be leaving (due to work, continuing my rehab, and needing to be in LA), but I will be back with my girls soon. Ultimately, I’m so thankful I was able to be in that environment, as hard as it was to sit and watch from the sidelines. It’s a reminder everyday that I’m closer to getting back to what I love.”
During this period, she will focus on preparing for the upcoming WNBA season.
The Sparks faced challenges without Brink, and they hold the second-overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. The anticipation is high for whoever they select with that pick, but the return of Brink to the court will be vital.
