The Chicago Sky currently have a 10-14 record in 2024. They had a thrilling, yet somewhat inconsistent start to the 2024 WNBA season. Angel Reese and the Sky might be ready for a strong second half of the ’24 campaign.
Reese has shown her readiness for the game to resume. The Sky rookie was chosen for the 2024 WNBA All-Star team. She has consistently achieved double-doubles and seems to be a future superstar. The 22-year-old is averaging 13.5 points per game. Additionally, Reese is averaging 11.9 rebounds per game. Reese’s rebound average is the second-best in the WNBA.
Reese and Caitlin Clark have been the main focus in the WNBA this season. They are continually associated with each other, as they have had a rivalry since college. Reese, however, is prepared to forge her own path. She aims to lead the Sky. Chicago has an intriguing lineup and could potentially make a deep playoff run.
Chennedy Carter is one of the most underrated players in the WNBA. Her average of 17.2 points per game leads the Sky. Kamilla Cardoso has shown promise, with an average of 8.1 points per game and a team-high 1.1 blocks per game.
While the Sky may not yet be ready to challenge powerhouses in the Eastern Conference like the New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun, they are tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with the Indiana Fever.
All Chicago needs to do is secure their spot in the playoffs. If they achieve this, anything is possible once the playoffs start. Even if the Sky don’t reach the WNBA Finals, they should have a chance to make a deep playoff run in 2024.
The future looks bright for the Sky with Angel Reese leading the way.
