What’s better than a tight race to the finish line in the WNBA playoff standings? There’s less than a week left in the regular season, and there’s still one postseason spot up for grabs.
The Sky are in the No. 8 spot, but luck hasn’t been on their side. Chennedy Carter missed several games with an illness, and after she returned, Angel Reese announced she’ll miss the rest of the season with a wrist injury. Chicago can’t catch a break.
If the Sky secure the final spot, their reward will be a first-round matchup against the best team in the W. Chicago would need a miracle to upset New York.

Washington’s postseason hopes are still alive, but time isn’t on the team’s side. It will be challenging for the Mystics to beat the Dream two games in a row, but they are coming off a huge win over the Sky. Don’t count Washington out yet.
