Candace Parker Exposes Kahleah Copper’s Ridicule as Angel Reese Delivers “Karma” to Unrivaled Teammate

The countdown has officially begun! It’s January 7th, which means we’re just ten days away from the highly anticipated debut of the offseason tournament, Unrivaled. Amid the excitement for star-studded clashes, basketball legend Candace Parker’s cheeky jab at her former teammate has added spice to the mix.

It all kicked off with Kahleah Copper and Angel Reese showing off their undeniable chemistry as teammates on Unrivaled’s Rose BC. These two stars, who suit up for different WNBA teams during the regular season, have been lighting up Instagram with their hilarious interactions.

Copper, a seasoned Phoenix Mercury standout, and Reese, the Chicago Sky’s rookie sensation, have been crowned the “front runners for unrivaled comedic duo” by Copper’s team on social media. But it was Reese’s tongue-in-cheek post that really got fans buzzing. Addressing Copper as “Grandma,” 22-year-old Reese teased, “Grandma, you can always come… nvm we got 10 weeks to chat 🤭.”

The “grandma” comment was, of course, a playful nod to Copper’s age. At 30, she’s far from old but definitely a veteran in the basketball world. Copper, quick with her wit, fired back with a laughing emoji and told Reese to take a “timeout.”

Enter Candace Parker, who just couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. The WNBA icon, who’s no stranger to Copper’s age-related jokes from their time as Chicago Sky teammates, chimed in with a hilarious comment: “Lol ‘grandma’ I love when Karma comes back for all them times you called me old.”

Parker’s quip brought fans back to 2021 and 2022, when she and Copper played together on the Sky. Their partnership was pivotal in leading the team to its first-ever WNBA championship in 2021, with Copper earning Finals MVP honors. Despite their seven-year age gap, Parker and Copper achieved immense success together. And that’s what makes Parker’s comment all the more relatable and entertaining.

Fans were loving it, calling Parker’s remark the “pettiest but best” comeback. While Parker has taken a step back from the spotlight, her connection to Copper and the Sky remains strong. And her sense of humor is as sharp as ever.

Beyond the laughs, all this banter highlights what makes the Unrivaled League so special.

After Unrivaled team up, Angel Reese prepares for debut

After deleting her Instagram account following backlash over a revealing New Year’s Eve outfit, Reese has redirected her focus to the Unrivaled league. Recently, on X, she urged fans to support her team, Rose BC, highlighting the importance of visibility in women’s sports.

The Chi-Town Barbie also had some practices scenes to share, working on her layups and 3-point shooting alongside Lexie Hull. Having had a disappointing end to her rookie season thanks to an injury, Reese seems excited to be back on the court. Ever since the club’s first practice sessions on Jan 5th, the 22-year-old hasn’t given a break to her updates.

She will be joined by Kahleah Copper, Brittney Sykes, Azura Stevens, and team captain Chelsea Gray as the league kicks off on Jan 17th.”I’m excited for the league’s first season! It’s amazing to be a part of a league that gives equity to players,” Reese had previously expressed. Now not long before she takes to the court against Vinyl BC for the first game.
