Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony has shared his thoughts on the ongoing feud between Shaq and Rudy Gobert.
To catch up on their feud, check out some of our previous articles. The two have been exchanging jabs for a while now.
While this isn’t the first time Shaq has insulted Gobert, tensions escalated when O’Neal called the Timberwolves big man the worst NBA player of all time.
Anthony has urged the Lakers legend to stop the Gobert bashing.
“Yo Shaq, Champ, leave Rudy alone,” Anthony said on his podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn. “Come on, man, give the guy a break. You know, show some respect, man. You know, Sacré bleu, and all that stuff.”
Melo also suggested that Shaq’s animosity towards certain current NBA players stems from them not seeking his basketball advice.
“I wish they would [seek Shaq’s advice],” Anthony said. “But they don’t feel like Shaq’s game is relevant to today’s game. No one is saying go talk to Shaq. They’re suggesting to go see T-Mac, Melo, or other players. They’re not saying, ‘Go see Shaq’. Unfortunately, if they did reach out and involve him in training and mentorship, that would be beneficial. He does contribute a lot to the game, but these young players don’t want to ask Shaq for guidance. I personally wanted Shaq’s advice.”
