Carnegie Mellon University is seeking applicants for a full-time assistant coach in its intercollegiate Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs. A national research university, Carnegie Mellon is a member of the NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports program. This full-time, 10-month position is benefits eligible and runs from August through May.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate competency in sport skill instruction, motivation, and ability to conduct team and individual practice sessions under the direction of the head coach
- Recruitment of potential student-athletes
- Demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic, and athletic progress of student-athletes
- Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior pursuing sport program goals set by the head coach
- Leadership ability and professional behavior when working with student-athletes
- Assist head coach with the organization and implementation of daily practice sessions and games
- Transporting team in vans to off-campus matches and practices
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours and on weekends
- Willingness and ability to string racquets
- Teaching in the physical education program
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 1-3 years of college tennis coaching experience preferred
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is proven may be considered
