The Chicago Sky had a chance for redemption after their 31-point loss to the Washington Mystics on Friday night. They traveled to Minnesota to face Napheesa Collier and the Lynx, but ultimately lost momentum and suffered an 83-66 defeat.
Meanwhile, the Washington Mystics defeated the Atlanta Dream, pushing the Sky back to ninth place in the league standings. Despite the setback, Chennedy Carter and Lindsay Allen remained defiant.
“We’re still here. We’re not going anywhere. We’re coming out with the same mentality and mindset every game,” Carter stated during the postgame press conference.
Allen echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the team’s focus on controlling what they can and maintaining a winning mentality.
While the Sky initially led against the Lynx, Minnesota made adjustments and took the lead for good. Carter led Chicago with 17 points and Cardoso recorded a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Teresa Weatherspoon’s Commitment to Sky’s Resilience
Despite the pressure, the Sky aims to maintain control and a winning mindset, as expressed by Carter and Allen. Weatherspoon emphasized the importance of sustaining energy and remaining resilient in the face of adversity.

“Success requires sustained energy. The intensity level must remain high for anyone stepping onto the court. We’re working towards that and need to keep pushing,” Weatherspoon remarked.
Chicago remains determined to secure a playoff spot and will continue to fight until the end of the regular season.
“We have three games left. Our mindset remains the same,” Weatherspoon affirmed. “We can control our destiny with these games. We trust in ourselves and our mission continues.”
