2024 SEASON OVERVIEW: Signed to a training camp contract in 2024, Carter battled her way onto the season-opening roster and immediately positioned herself as a Sky centerpiece.

She made her Chicago Sky debut on May 15 against Dallas, going on to notch 12 points in the following game on May 18. She had eight straight games from May 18 to June 6 with at least 11 points, including 14 against Los Angeles on May 30.

Through the beginning part of the season, she came off the bench and averaged 12.9 points on 52.0% shooting in her first 13 games.

Her standout play off the bench cemented her as a Sixth Player of the Year candidate. Then, on June 16, Carter was elevated to the starting lineup. She averaged 20.1 points for the rest of the season, starting in 20 games and averaging 20.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 47.5% from the field and 32.0%
from three. She finished the year with three votes for Most Improved Player.

That stretch included a

Carter scored 25 points on Aug. 25 in a narrow loss to Las Vegas, included a late three that tied the game. In total, Carter averaged a career highs of 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists along with 3.1 assists. She also shot a career-best 48.7% from the field. Carter finished the season ranked second in the league in fast break points with 3.7 per game and sixth in points in the paint, being the only guard among the top-10 ranking players in that respect.
