The Chicago Sky made several major moves in the WNBA Draft, selecting four total prospects on Monday evening. Although they used their first pick on young Slovenian star forward Ajša Sivka, they chose star college guard Hailey Van Lith immediately afterward.
General manager Jeff Pagliocca was stunned that both players were still available when the Sky were on the clock at No. 10 and No. 11, which allowed him to make consecutive choices without thinking twice. The fallout from the draft has looked upon the pair of picks favorably, and fans are especially excited to watch Van Lith take the court with Angel Reese again.

In the days since the draft, Van Lith’s popularity has continued to soar as she was introduced to the local media in Chicago on Thursday. The team also announced that Van Lith would wear No. 2 this season, not No. 10 or No. 11 like she wore in college.

On Thursday, the team made an exciting announcement regarding their newest draft pick. Fans of both the Chicago Sky and Van Lith can now purchase her new jersey in the team store.
While it may take some time for Van Lith’s fans to get used to her wearing another number, it’s hard to deny that the new threads are sleek. It is a new era after all for the young player, who will attempt to take her game to the next level in the WNBA.
Kamilla Cardoso wore No. 10 for the Sky last season, and new addition Rebecca Allen is likely to wear No. 11, which is how Van Lith landed on No. 2. Jerseys are available now for fans, but it won’t be until May 17 that Van Lith puts the jersey on for her first WNBA game against the Indiana Fever.
