LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Allen had her best game of the season, scoring 16 points, while rookies Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese both achieved double-doubles as the Chicago Sky staged a comeback in the fourth quarter to defeat Los Angeles 90-86 on Saturday, handing the Sparks their fifth consecutive home loss.
The Sky (11-15) found themselves behind 74-64 after three quarters, but a quick turnaround jumper from Allen followed by a Rachel Banham 3-pointer cut the deficit in half just 61 seconds into the fourth quarter. Cardoso then made a layup as the Sky scored the first seven points of the quarter. Odyssey Sims responded with a layup for the Sparks (6-20), but Reese and Cardoso then took charge, giving the Sky a 77-76 lead with 6 minutes and 35 seconds remaining.
Stephanie Talbot tied the game at 79 with a 3-pointer at the 4:43 mark. Reese made one of two free throws to put the Sky back in the lead, and Michaela Onyenwere added a layup to extend their lead further, securing the win.
Cardoso scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Reese ended the game with 14 points and 11 rebounds for her 19th double-double of the season. Banham contributed with three 3-pointers and 14 points.
Kia Nurse led the Sparks with 16 points, as they suffered their fifth consecutive loss in the series. Rickea Jackson and Talbot added 13 points each, while Crystal Dangerfield had 11 points and six assists. Azurá Stevens chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
