“The basketball gods keep blessing me. I don’t even know how I did that,” Reese said. “I didn’t have a great night tonight, obviously.”
Reese’s double-double streak was nearly broken on Wednesday when she hit two free throws in the final moments of a close game against Atlanta. She expressed her commitment to doing whatever it takes to win.
Despite struggling against New York’s tough defense, Reese managed to secure her 10th point and 10th rebound, thrilling the sellout crowd with her accomplishment.
“She goes hard, she’s not out there for records, she’s out there for wins,” said Chicago coach Teresa Weatherspoon. “She puts in the work, it just so happens every time you look at the stat sheet there she is again with a double-double.”
Reflecting on her achievement, Reese acknowledged her journey and the recognition she has received among basketball greats.
The record-breaking attendance at the game highlighted Reese’s impact on the court and off it, as she continues to inspire young girls with her unique style and talent.
