After parting ways with head coach Teresa Weatherspoon over a month ago, the Chicago Sky seem to have selected their next leader.
Reports from ESPN’s Bobby Marks and Alexa Philippou on Saturday afternoon indicate that the Sky will be bringing on Tyler Marsh, current assistant coach for the Las Vegas Aces, as their new head coach.
Marsh has been a part of the Aces organization since before the 2022 season, contributing to their championship wins in ’22 and ’23.
Prior to his time with Las Vegas, Marsh gained experience as an assistant coach focused on player development with the Indiana Pacers. He also achieved an NBA championship as an assistant video coordinator and player development coach for the Toronto Raptors in 2019.
In the 2024 season, Chicago had a disappointing record of 13-27, their worst since ’06, despite the buzz surrounding the additions of Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese.
Meanwhile, Marsh’s Aces had a strong season with a record of 27-13, although they were defeated by the New York Liberty in the league semifinals.
