Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese expressed her desire to team up with All-Star Allisha Gray, but not in the WNBA. The 22-year-old rookie is looking forward to having the Atlanta Dream guard on her team for the upcoming 3v3 league Unrivaled.
Last week, Reese publicly shared her interest in playing with Gray on Instagram, commenting on Gray’s post about her upcoming 2024 season. “Let’s be teammates for Unrivaled?? Thanks. ~management,” the Chicago Sky rookie wrote. Gray is known for her Olympic success in 3v3 basketball.
Unrivaled, co-founded by Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier and New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart, features 30 players and kicks off in January with all games taking place in Miami over a 10-week period. The players will be divided into six teams of five players each.
Other WNBA players like Kelsey Plum, Arike Ogunbowale, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray have already confirmed their participation in Unrivaled. Reese expressed her excitement about the project as it offers a unique opportunity to play domestically during the off-season.

Reese emphasized the appeal of Unrivaled for WNBA players in an interview with the Chicago Tribune, highlighting the league’s financial benefits. “Many players dread going overseas, but for some, it’s a necessity. Earning six figures in just three months is a game-changer. Plus, 3×3 basketball allows players to refine their individual skills as the game exposes everything,” she explained.
