On Wednesday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs are back on the practice field at their training facility on the grounds of the Truman Sports Complex.
Meeting with reporters before the session, head coach Andy Reid got right down to business.
“As far as the injuries go, Mike Danna won’t practice today and [Kristian] Fulton won’t practice today. Other than that, we look forward to the challenge of playing a good Giants football team.”
The defensive end and cornerback were both hurt during the first quarter of Sunday’s 20-17 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Danna is dealing with a hip injury, while Fulton’s issue is with his ankle.
Reid also confirmed that rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals (knee) would be back at practice.
“He’s coming pretty good,” noted the head coach. “We’ll just see how he does. He’s been out for a while, so I’d like to see how he moves around.”
Royals has been working his way back from tendonitis in his knee. He’ll be re-joining wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who surprised observers when he returned to practice last Thursday after dislocating his shoulder during the Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Over the weekend, it was reported that Worthy actually suffered a torn labrum in the incident, but the team still hopes he can play in Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants.
Reid said that neither player would have any limitations in Wednesday’s session. We’ll see if that translates to full participation when Wednesday’s official injury report is released.
