The Kansas City Chiefs held their sixth training camp practice for the 2024 season at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph on Saturday, with it being the second session in full pads.
Wide receiver Justin Watson had to leave Wednesday’s practice due to a foot injury. He was seen without pads or a helmet on Friday and was absent from Saturday’s practice.
Cornerback Nazeeh Johnson was unable to finish the practice as he suffered an injury during a drill with wide receivers. After initially attempting to return to the field, he eventually had to walk up to the locker room. Wide receiver Justyn Ross also had to leave early, being driven up the hill in a cart.
Several players, including cornerback Jaylen Watson, safety Justin Reid, defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, left guard Joe Thuney, and defensive end Charles Omenihu, were present at practice without pads or helmets, working with trainers on the sidelines. Defensive end BJ Thompson was not in attendance. These six players are still on the Active/PUP or Active/NFI lists due to injuries.
The Chiefs currently have 91 players under contract, with a full roster of 90 active players (excluding tackle Chukwuebuka Godrick, who has an International Pathway Program roster exemption). The team is estimated to have $14.1 million in salary cap space.
