When Caitlin Clark isn’t hooping in the WNBA, she has other sports interests that keep her entertained. As it turns out, her loyalty to her favorite teams is just as solid as her commitment to her beloved Indiana Fever.

On Saturday, the two-time WNBA All-Star posted an Instagram story showing a football game taking place inside Lucas Oil Stadium. Clark, a superfan of the Kansas City Chiefs, made sure to clarify that she wasn’t in the venue to support its NFL inhabitants, the Indianapolis Colts.

“don’t worry, I’m cheering for IU football,” Clark wrote in her IG story’s caption.

Clark is referring to the Indiana University Hoosiers, who were taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes as CC snapped the picture inside the stadium. The Buckeyes and the Hoosiers are the number one and number two seed in the Big Ten conference, respectively, and the showdown inside Lucas Oil Stadium was no less than the Big Ten championship game.

The Fever superstar, of course, knows all about high-pressure situations in collegiate battles. In the last two years of her stint with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Clark led the team to back-to-back appearances in the national title game. It was around this time that her global popularity started to pick up, as her battles with LSU star Angel Reese became must-see TV.

Clark’s rise to prominence coincides with the dominant run of her favorite team in the NFL, as the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2023 and 2024. CC, who has become good friends with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his renowned fiancee Taylor Swift, made sure that her presence in Lucas Oil Stadium this past weekend wouldn’t change a thing about her Chiefs fandom.

Indiana Fever HC calls Caitlin Clark “Taylor Swift 2.0,” points out disadvantages of widespread fame

In a recent appearance on the “Bird’s Eye View” podcast, Fever head coach Stephanie White pointed out the parallels between Clark and her pop icon of a friend.

“Understanding the spotlight that she’s on, understanding the weight that she carries because of who she is…she’s literally like Taylor Swift 2.0,” White said on the podcast.

Unfortunately for Fever fans, Clark was unable to deliver on the lofty expectations this past season as she was hounded by multiple injuries. When the WNBA resumes action, Clark will certainly have extra motivation to go out and reestablish herself on the court.
