Christian Taylor dominated the triple jump from 2011 to 2019, winning five out of six World Championship titles. He also claimed gold in the Olympics in both 2012 and 2016. One of his most memorable jumps took place on August 27, 2015, when he leaped 18.21 meters, coming close to Jonathan Edwards’ record.
One of the most intense competitions was between Christian Taylor and Pedro Pichardo in 2014-2015, particularly in Lausanne. After a heated battle, Taylor emerged victorious. Unfortunately, in 2021, Taylor suffered a ruptured Achilles and has since been facing challenges. As the greatest triple jumper in US history, Taylor has announced his retirement, leaving a lasting legacy in the sport.
Despite his retirement, we can expect to see Christian Taylor involved in the sport in the future. His impact and sportsmanship have been truly remarkable.
