Clayton Kershaw made his first minor league rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City against the El Paso Chihuahuas on Saturday. The Dodgers’ pitcher looked dominant, throwing three innings without allowing any runs or hits. He also walked one batter and struck out five.
After dealing with injuries and undergoing surgery on his left shoulder in Nov. 2023, Kershaw was limited to 24 starts last season. He made a successful rehab start with advanced Class-A Rancho Cucamonga in June and was on track to return after the All-Star break. However, his return to the Dodgers was delayed due to shoulder soreness. Saturday’s start was his first competitive game in 24 days.
Kershaw, a future Hall of Famer, has had an impressive career with the Dodgers, accumulating a record of 210-92 in 16 seasons. He is a 10-time All-Star, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, and the 2014 National League MVP.
