CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Cleveland’s new WNBA franchise fulfilled its community pledge with a youth basketball clinic at Rocket Arena, marking a major milestone for the team ahead of its debut season.
In September 2025, the team set out to host 28 unique activations across Ohio, western New York and western Pennsylvania. The events ranged from basketball camps and coaching clinics to professional development sessions.
On Wednesday, WNBA Cleveland reached its goal of 28 when 70 girls came to Rocket Arena for a youth clinic featuring special guest Mark Price, a Cavaliers legend.
Since the initiative began, 2,600 girls have participated in WNBA Cleveland events, and that number continues to grow.
Cleveland’s WNBA team is set to begin play in 2026, bringing professional women’s basketball back to Ohio for the first time since the Cleveland Rockers folded in 2003.
