Ty Lue has expressed confidence that Kawhi Leonard will be prepared for the beginning of training camp with the LA Clippers. Leonard dealt with inflammation in his right knee, which had previously undergone surgery, causing him to miss the final eight games of the previous season and impacting his availability for the playoffs. Although Leonard was originally set to compete in the Olympics for the United States, concerns about his health led to Derrick White taking his place during the training camp.
“I speak with him regularly,” Lue revealed to ESPN last week. “He will be ready for [Clippers] training camp. He’s feeling good, and I am certain that he will be prepared for training camp.”
Leonard sat out the entire 21-22 season due to a torn ACL and underwent surgery for a torn meniscus in June 2023. Last season, Leonard participated in 68 games, marking the most games he has played since his time with the San Antonio Spurs in the 16-17 season.
