The close competition in the Formula 1 championship this season and the excitement it brings for 2025 has been hailed as “a dream come true” by the president of the Miami Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen’s dominance has been challenged ever since Lando Norris claimed victory in Miami, narrowing the gap to the championship leader to 52 points with six rounds remaining. Miami president Tyler Epp believes the increased competition on track is helping to elevate the race’s status further.
“It’s fantastic,” Epp told RACER. “It’s a dream come true for us as we strive to grow our business together. We have immense respect for what Red Bull and Max have achieved in recent years. There’s a deep appreciation for that, along with the historical significance.”

“We’re not rooting against Max and Red Bull, but we embrace competition. We enjoy the unpredictability of race outcomes, especially appealing to a younger fan base. The strong relationship with Formula 1 and teams ensures that Miami is a preferred destination. When Zak Brown and Lando want a competitive run, they know Miami is the place to be!
“McLaren has been a great partner in this endeavor. We’ve highlighted the McLaren story, particularly their inaugural win here. The McLaren grandstand has been a success, providing an authentic fan experience in the United States.”
Epp mentions that the current form guide has led to a positive start in ticket sales for Miami’s 2025 offering, collaborating with other regional events.
“Everything is on an upward trend. We’re confident about our progress. The ticket sales cycle, from the first year to now, heading into year four, has been fluctuating,” he said. “We’re closely monitoring trends to understand fan preferences as our ultimate target. We’re pleased with our position and continually refining the value proposition which reflects in our pricing.”
“We engage with our counterparts in Austin, Vegas, Montreal, and Mexico as we focus on the North American market. With the upcoming races in North America including Austin, Mexico, Vegas, and Brazil, we are attentive to sales figures and strive to stay ahead. It has been a strong start to the season.”
