Coco Gauff’s close friend Jalen Sera reacted to her French Open victory on social media. The 21-year-old put on an impressive show to defeat Aryna Sabalenka and win her second Grand Slam singles title.
Gauff booked her place in the final after a 6-1, 6-2 win over Lois Boisson and found herself a set down. However, the American bounced back to register a 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4 win and become the first woman from her nation to win the French Open since Serena Williams in 2015. She previously won the women’s doubles title last year while partnering Katerina Siniakova.

Jalen Sera, who is a good friend of Gauff’s, congratulated the 21-year-old on her French Open win. He commented on the World No. 2’s pictures on Instagram by stating:
“Unreal run. Keep shining champ.”
Sera also shared a few messages for Gauff on his Instagram stories, with one of them having a song from Tyler the Creator, whom the World No. 2 gave a shoutout to during her victory speech on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
Coco Gauff Ends Clay-Court Season With 18 Wins Out of 21 Matches
The World No. 2 produced some impressive tennis during the clay season, all of which culminated in her French Open triumph. Gauff started with a quarterfinal exit at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, losing 4-6, 3-6 to Jasmine Paolini. However, she followed this up by reaching the final of the Madrid Open, beating Dayana Yastremska, Ann Li, Belinda Bencic, Mirra Andreeva and Iga Swiatek before losing to Aryna Sabalenka.
The American then reached another final, this time at the Italian Open, where she defeated Victoria Mboko, Magda Linette, Emma Raducanu, Mirra Andreeva and Zheng Qinwen. Here, she suffered a 4-6, 2-6 defeat to Jasmine Paolini.
Coco Gauff’s French Open singles triumph came three years after her crushing defeat to Iga Swiatek in the tournament’s final. That year, the American also lost the doubles final. However, fast forward three years, and she now has both trophies in her collection to go with the US Open singles title she won in 2023.
Following the French Open, Gauff is next expected to start her grass swing at the Berlin Tennis Open, which starts on June 16. The American reached the semifinals of the WTA 500 event last year before losing to Jessica Pegula.
