Colby Covington is backing Stipe Miocic in his upcoming title fight against Jon Jones.
Jones and Miocic are set to face off in the main event of UFC 309 on November 16 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“Bones” is heavily favored in the fight, but Covington believes Miocic will pull off an upset.
In a recent interview, Covington praised Miocic’s work ethic and criticized Jones for his past behavior, stating he doesn’t deserve to win.
“Stipe is a great American; he’s a patriot. He’s a first responder and a hard worker. I’m rooting for a real American with morals and values—something that Jon lacks.”
“Jones has no morals and values; he’s a terrible person. He doesn’t deserve to win. I’m rooting for Stipe, and I hope he gets it done.”
Jones and Miocic were supposed to fight in November 2023 but the match was canceled due to an injury to the champion.
Jones claimed the heavyweight title in 2023, while Miocic has been out of action since 2021.
