Concord, Sony’s struggling 5v5 hero shooter, has officially shut down just two weeks after its PS5 and PC launch – its brief existence coming to an end with an abrupt “error” message.
Concord was revealed last May as part of former PlayStation head Jim Ryan’s ambitious foray into live-service gaming. Unfortunately, Sony and developer Firewalk Studios didn’t see much success with Concord’s August launch – player numbers were low, with reports stating only around 25,000 copies sold.
Despite this, it was surprising when Sony announced Concord’s closure earlier this week shortly after release. Firewalk admitted that “our initial launch didn’t go as planned” and confirmed that Concord would be taken offline today. And now, its life – in its current form – has officially ended; servers went down before 7pm in the UK, displaying only an error message and instructions for refunds.
On the game’s subreddit, Concord’s community team shared a heartfelt message, thanking players for their support and memories made while playing the game. The Discord server will remain open with some changes to improve communication.

The future of Concord remains uncertain. Firewalk mentioned exploring options for the game’s future, hinting at a possible return in a revamped form. Despite Concord’s closure, it will still be featured in Amazon’s upcoming animated video game anthology series Secret Level, providing one last chance to bid goodbye.
