The 2024 season will go down in history as historic and memorable on the Men’s side and ultra-competitive on the Women’s side. The FSA Directeur Sportif reflects on the year, noting some surprise outcomes. One Men’s rider managed to be on all of the top 10 teams, a remarkable feat.
[Some made bold choices banking on vdP or Remco, while others finished way down in 519th place. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but actually didn’t turn out well.]
[Narrator: It didn’t.]
Let’s not dwell on past choices but instead focus on those who excelled in the competition.
Meet Our Winners!
Congratulations to our Men’s podium winners! Azzurra of DiCenta secured a narrow 250-point victory over Team Andmujika, with Simpslb’s Grupetto closely behind.
Kudos to our Women’s Comp leaders! The Peluchen Effect by DS dreamer_mg clinched a 1,000-point win over Lotte Finistère by seriouscharly, with Luctor Emergo’s Pride and Prejudice close by.
The combined ranking competition was won by Moncassin31, whose Pédale! teams narrowly emerged victorious.
Our winners are invited to share their stories, as every winning team has a unique journey. To start off, here’s a bit of background on the champions.
DiCenta is a first-time player but not new to the concept. Andomujika has been playing since 2010, while SimpSLB joined in 2016.
And Now a Win From Our Sponsor…
FSA and Vision celebrated wins across the World Tour, from EF Education to Arkea. Kristen Faulkner’s Olympic Road Race gold medal was a notable highlight. Road racing excellence is expected to resume next year.
Rider Trends and Tidbits
Tadej Pogačar dominated the men’s side with a record-breaking 6,580-point season. Maxim Van Gils was a key factor for many winning teams, surpassing expectations with over 2,000 points. Ben O’Connor and Biniam Girmay also contributed significantly to their teams’ success.
On the Women’s side, Elisa Longo Borghini emerged as a surprising leader with a high point total. Marianne Vos and other veterans also made significant contributions to their teams’ success, proving to be smart investments.
Feel free to share your hits and misses, league grudges, and more. A special congrats to Mr Van P for winning the Editors’ League championship!
Thanks to everyone for participating, and special thanks to Superted for maintaining the competition website. Looking forward to FSA DS ’25!
