The Connecticut Sun named Morgan Tuck as their new general manager on Tuesday. Darius Taylor, who had been the GM since 2022, will remain with the organization and move to the role of chief basketball strategist and director of scouting.
Tuck joined the Sun’s front office as their director of franchise development in 2021 before adding assistant general manager to her duties in 2022.
“I am honored and excited to take on this new role with the Sun,” Tuck said in a statement released by the team. “Being able to be a part of this organization in various roles has prepared me for this moment, and I’m extremely appreciative for the guidance and support that I have received from our staff and ownership group.
“This is an exciting time for the Sun, and I’m eager to work alongside our coaching staff, players, and front office to continue the pursuit of our first championship,” she added. “I look forward to this new chapter and the challenges ahead, as we aim to maintain a winning culture and create lasting memories for our fans.”

Tuck spent four seasons as a player with Connecticut after she was drafted third overall by the team in the 2016 WNBA Draft. She spent her fifth and final season with the Seattle Storm where she won the 2020 WNBA championship with them.
“Morgan is a rising star in this industry,” Taylor said in a statement. “Watching her grow into the front office executive she has become has been nothing short of amazing. Her career has come full circle with the Connecticut Sun organization. I know she will be instrumental in propelling this organization to its fullest potential.”
The Sun are coming off a 28-12 season in which they nearly made it to the WNBA Finals, but fell one game short and were eliminated in Game 5 of by the Minnesota Lynx.
Connecticut announced its 2025 schedule on Monday. The Sun will open their season Sunday, May 18 against the Washington Mystics at Mohegan Sun Arena. They’ll also return to TD Garden on July 15 when the Sun host Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.
