Conor McGregor has been banned from driving for two years and narrowly avoided a 5-month prison sentence for his reckless driving.
When not in the cage, the Irishman always finds a way to make headlines. This week, ‘The Notorious’ is once again in the spotlight for negative reasons.
Conor McGregor appeared in the Blanchardstown District Court on Tuesday where he was sentenced by Judge David McHugh. He received a two-year driving ban, a €5,000 fine, and a suspended five-month jail term on the condition of good behavior during his driving ban.
In March 2022, McGregor was detained after driving recklessly on the streets of Dublin, almost causing a crash. He was caught speeding, running red lights, and evading police at speeds up to 99mph. Judge McHugh described it as “appalling” behavior.
Judge McHugh condemned McGregor’s actions on the road, calling them “an appalling series of breaches of the road traffic rules” and “an appalling episode of dangerous driving.”

Every time there’s promising news about Conor McGregor’s UFC comeback, something seems to hinder it.
McGregor has left fans uncertain and the combat sports world in suspense about his return to action.
If the superstar does step back into the octagon, it’s likely to be against former Bellator champion and UFC fan-favorite Michael Chandler.
The two fighters have been trading words for over a year and have expressed interest in rescheduling their bout soon, after it was initially set to happen at UFC 303 last month.
