A mouth-watering clash between Craig O’Brien and Edward Donovan is rumored to be set for September 20.
Rumors are circulating within boxing circles about a Dublin versus Limerick light middleweight title fight scheduled for the 3Arena next month.
This unexpected bout will take place on the proposed 360 Promotions promoted Callum Walsh homecoming card.
The Irish light middleweight title, which ‘The Iron’ won by defeating Jay Byrne on TG4 in 2018, is reportedly up for grabs.
This will be the second all-Irish fight on the card, as Kevin Cronin and Emmett Brennan have also agreed to step into the ring.
Inner City Dub, O’Brien, initially agreed to face Walsh in the main event, but he will not be fighting the Cork fighter as he is not eligible to challenge for the WBC International title currently held by the rising star.
This paves the way for former underage standout, Donovan, to finally get the opportunity he has been seeking for over a year.
‘The Dominator’, who last fought in July 2023 when he defeated Nelson Morales in America, has been eager for an all-Irish title fight and will now have his wish granted on a UFC Fight Pass broadcasted event.
