TULSA, Okla. — Starting off the championship A-Features with the Joe’s Racing Products Stock Non-Wing A-Feature, Brent Crews from North Carolina clinched his first Golden Driller at the 40th annual Smiley’s Racing Products Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy Drink.
Chasing after Cannon McIntosh, who began in the pole position, Crews showed patience and waited for the track conditions to favor him. After a few attempts, he took over the lead on lap 13 during a mid-race restart, holding off McIntosh’s attempts to reclaim the position.
In a thrilling race for second place, Crews managed to distance himself from the competition and crossed the finish line with a 1.735-second lead. Quinton Benson finished in second, while Jeffrey Newell made an impressive run from 11th to third place. McIntosh ended up in fourth, with Kole Kirkman completing the top five after gaining five positions.
The Joe’s Racing Products Stock Non-Wing category attracted a record-breaking 431 drivers for the 40th annual Smiley’s Racing Products Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy Drink, making it the largest class in the event.
