Despite their lowly 8-19 record, the Dallas Wings are one of the most promising teams on the rise in the WNBA.

This season might not show it, but led by rookie Paige Bueckers, it’s only a matter of time before the Wings break through, and once they hit their stride, it should take a long time for them to slow down.
Dallas took on the New York Liberty on Monday, winning 92-82. Bueckers scored 20 points and added three steals for good measure, and fans can hope that she will follow in one of her rivals’ footsteps.
In the Wings’ win, Sabrina Ionescu scored 17 points but made only a single shot from deep. Despite the lackluster showing, she has long been one of the better scorers in the WNBA, and she plans on spending the rest of her career in New York.

“I talked to her dad during the WNBA all star weekend. He said she’s never coming back home,” reported insider Marc Stein. “She’s gonna play in New York her whole career.”
For the Wings’ sake, hopefully Bueckers feels the same way about the team that drafted her first overall.
While player movement is less common in the WNBA than it is in the NBA, free agency is still a very active time. Of course, Bueckers has given no indication that she wants out of Dallas and seems very patient with the rebuild, which she is the center of.

However, Dallas fans have learned to be wary about stars suddenly leaving in recent months, even if their move was beyond their control.
