Although the WNBA and the players’ union are still discussing CBA negotiations, most players across the league will be unrestricted free agents this upcoming season.

Here’s Ballislife’s WNBA Mock Draft, featuring the top five picks, which were revealed over the weekend.

1. Dallas Wings- Awa Fam, Center, Spain

Honorable mentions: UCLA center Lauren Betts, UConn guard Azzi Fudd

General manager Curt Miller and the Dallas Wings face another critical decision with the No. 1 pick of the 2026 WNBA Draft, especially after selecting Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers, No.1 in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Spanish center Awa Fam brings athleticism and versatility, and could help address the Wings’ need in the frontcourt. She is also one of the top prospects in the draft class and a rising star in Euroleague Women, where she plays for Valencia Basket.

Additionally, Fam is a modern big who can rebound, stretch the floor, drill 3-pointers, and score efficiently. She and Bueckers could be a duo to watch, following the model of other successful center/guard combinations that have led teams to championships.

2. Minnesota Lynx- Lauren Betts, Center, UCLA

Honorable mention: Spain center Awa Fam

The Minnesota Lynx acquired the pick through a trade with the Chicago Sky this past April, and it will be fascinating to see who they select with the second overall pick.

UCLA Bruins center Lauren Betts won the National Defensive Player of the Year award in her junior season after setting the new single-season record in blocks with 100.

Considered a top prospect of the 2026 draft class, Betts is best known as a dominant interior scorer and elite shot blocker.

Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve has coached the greatest forwards and centers to ever play in WNBA history, including five-time WNBA Champion Rebekah Brunson and Hall of Famers Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore.

Adding Betts to pair with Napheesa Collier, the runner-up in the 2025 WNBA MVP race, could give Minnesota one of the WNBA’s most intimidating frontcourts.  After all, the Lynx have been knocking on the door of a championship for a few years now.

3. Seattle Storm- Olivia Miles, Guard, TCU

Honorable mention: UConn guard Azzi Fudd

The Seattle Storm used the second overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft to select 20-year-old French phenom Dominique Malonga.

With uncertainty about which players will be on next year’s roster, Seattle has options with the third overall pick.

Guard Olivia Miles fits the Storm’s backcourt, especially under Sonia Raman’s coaching system.  Known for her incredible passing ability, she’s often compared to four-time WNBA champion Chelsea Gray.  Currently, she’s tied No. 7 overall in the nation with 7.5 assists per game.

Miles was projected as a top-2 pick in the draft class before she decided to forgo the 2025 WNBA Draft and play her fifth year for the TCU Horned Frogs.

Pairing Malonga with Miles could remind Storm fans of the iconic duo of Lauren Jackson and Sue Bird, who led the franchise to two WNBA titles in 2004 and 2010. The pick-and-roll possibilities coming out of Emerald City could be endless.

4. Washington Mystics- Azzi Fudd, Guard, UConn

Honorable mention: LSU guard Flau’jae Johnson

With the return of Georgia Amoore, who missed the 2025 season due to a torn ACL injury, the Washington Mystics will need another young guard to pair with Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen. Plus, Fudd is from the DMV area!

Azzi Fudd fits the team’s needs at shooting guard. She is one of the best sharpshooters in college women’s basketball with the UConn Huskies, averaging 21 points per game in six games this year, while shooting a career-high 54.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Her defensive prowess, quick release, and ability to score in transition could instantly make the Mystics a playoff team.  Pairing Fudd with Citron could give Washington one of the league’s most lethal backcourt duos.

5. Chicago Sky- Flau’jae Johnson, Guard, LSU

Honorable mention: South Carolina guard Ta’Niya Latson

The Chicago Sky will need a consistent shooting guard, especially after struggling last season due to injuries.

The team also missed an opportunity when it traded the third overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft for Ariel Atkins, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent.

LSU Tigers star Flau’jae Johnson fits the Sky’s needs at shooting guard. She can score from all three levels while bringing leadership and confidence on and off the court.

Johnson shares a similar play style with Kahleah Copper, who played for the Chicago franchise for seven seasons and won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics last year.

As CBA negotiations are ongoing, the timeline for the 2026 WNBA free agency, especially the expansion drafts, is still to be determined. It will be fascinating to see how it all turns out, as the new CBA agreement will be transformative.
