During the UFC 308 press conference in October, Dorobshokh Nabotov, an undefeated fighter, made a bold move by speaking directly to UFC President Dana White. He requested an opportunity to prove himself in the Octagon, listing his accomplishments. To everyone’s surprise, White called him down from the crowd onto the stage where they shook hands.
Subsequently, it was announced that Nabotov would be given a chance to fight on Z-Fight Night, a South Korean MMA promotion owned by Chan Sung Jung, also known as “The Korean Zombie.” The event is set to take place on December 14 in Goyang, coinciding with the UFC’s final event of 2024 in Tampa.
White mentioned that they would attend the card to film a new episode of their series, “Looking For A Fight,” where they explore tourist attractions, sample local cuisine, and watch exciting fights. If Nabotov impresses in his bout against Brazil’s Matheus Camilo, he might receive a significant opportunity on the spot.
However, due to the current situation in South Korea, travel plans have been altered. Following President Yoon Suk Yeol’s declaration of martial law, White will no longer be able to attend the Z-Fight Night event. The promotion expressed regret in an Instagram post and hopes to invite White to a future event.
While the event will still be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass, Nabotov will have the chance to showcase his skills to UFC officials and fans.
