Daria Kasatkina emerged victorious in the final of the Ningbo Open in China, defeating her fellow Russian Mirra Andreeva with a score of 6-0, 4-6, 6-4. This win marks Kasatkina’s eighth career title and her second of the season, following four previous losses in finals earlier this year.
Despite a strong start leading to a win in the first set with minimal errors, Kasatkina faced a tough challenge as Andreeva fought back in the second set. Andreeva’s four consecutive game wins led to a decisive third set where she initially took the lead with three games.

However, errors from Andreeva allowed Kasatkina to make a comeback, winning five consecutive games and ultimately securing the victory. Despite Andreeva’s emotional response to losing her lead and missing out on her second career title, Kasatkina was quick to offer comfort and support. Andreeva’s apology for her tears revealed her attempt to hold back her emotions, ultimately giving in to the moment.
Throughout the tournament, Kasatkina faced tough opponents like Andreeva, Katerina Siniakova, Yulia Putintseva, and Paula Badosa, emerging victorious in all matches except for Badosa who retired in the second set.
