Derek Brunson is set to compete in a grappling match against Rodolfo Vieira in the main event of ADXC 7, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro on Nov. 17, as announced by the company on Friday.
Brunson, a seasoned MMA fighter with 33 fights under his belt, has 24 wins with five of them coming by submission. His most recent UFC victory was a rear-naked choke against Darren Till in 2023. Currently signed with the PFL, the jiu-jitsu black belt previously fought in Brazil once, defeating Lyoto Machida by first-round knockout in Sao Paulo in 2017.
Vieira, on the other hand, is a highly accomplished jiu-jitsu player with five IBJJF world championships and one ADCC gold medal in his illustrious career. Having secured nine of his 10 MMA wins via submission, Vieira has recently submitted his last two UFC opponents with arm-triangle chokes.
In addition to the main event, ADXC 7 will showcase former K-1 HERO’s lightweight champion Gesias Cavalcante, a veteran of 37 MMA bouts and numerous grappling matches, facing off against Piter Frank, who emerged victorious with a submission victory over Rafael Domingos at the UFC Fight Pass Invitational 7 in May.
