2024 SEASON OVERVIEW: The Sky signed DeShields on Feb. 5 during free agency, marking her return to Chicago. She previously played for the franchise from 2018-21 after being selected as the No. 3 overall pick in 2018. DeShields helped the Sky to their first WNBA championship in 2021.
She averaged 4.5 points in 32 games for the Sky this season. DeShields made her first appearance and start in a Sky uniform since 2021 on May 15 against Dallas, where she scored 14 points to go along with three steals in the season opener.
DeShields led the Sky in scoring on May 18 against Dallas, notching 16 points along with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.
DeShields played a big role off the bench in wins against Indiana on June 23 and Atlanta on July 2. In the game against Indiana, she knocked down a pair of three-pointers and scored eight points. She scored nine points in the win over Atlanta.
In the final six games of the season, DeShields averaged 6.7 points, with a 12-point performance against Washington on Aug. 28 and a 10-point outing against Los Angeles on Sept. 6 among standout performances.
