Diana Taurasi will be remembered as one of the greatest basketball players, regardless of gender, when she eventually decides to end her professional career.
Despite speculation from basketball legends suggesting her 2024 season might be her last, Taurasi has not made a clear retirement announcement, indicating that she is still unsure about when to retire.
On Tuesday, she revealed that she still hasn’t made a decision about her retirement timing.
In an article from October 22, Taurasi expressed, “I’m still in the thought process and I want to make the right decision before announcing my retirement.”
Having played 20 WNBA seasons and turning 42 this year, Taurasi emphasized that she is carefully considering her retirement decision and is taking her time to ensure it is the right choice.
She mentioned that after a season ends, thinking about the next season is not always the top priority.
Although Taurasi’s playing days may continue, she has expressed interest in owning a team once she retires.
She mentioned, “I definitely love the idea of influencing a team and potentially owning a team, inspired by her experience with the Phoenix Mercury owner Mat Ishbia.”
Even if Taurasi decides not to play again, fans can expect her to remain involved in the future of the WNBA.
