Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Brusdar Graterol left his 2024 debut due to a right hamstring strain.
Graterol only threw eight pitches on Tuesday after being sidelined for the first four and a half months of the season with right shoulder inflammation. On the eighth pitch, Graterol appeared to injure his right leg. He received attention from Dodgers trainers before being assisted off the field. Graterol was visibly emotional as he exited the game.

Graterol completed eight rehab appearances before rejoining Los Angeles on Monday. He was hoping to contribute in high-leverage situations upon his return to the mound at Dodger Stadium after an extended absence.
This injury adds to the Dodgers’ challenges this season, which has been plagued by injuries to key players. It’s a disappointing end to Graterol’s season debut.
The Dodgers have 38 games left in the season with less than eight weeks remaining. Graterol has a Grade 3 strain, which is likely to end his season.
This setback is heartbreaking for Graterol, who had just started his season after a long wait.
Now, the wait for Graterol’s return to the mound may be even longer than before.
