Could Walker Buehler be saying goodbye to the Dodgers?
MLB insider J.P. Morosi suggests that the Atlanta Braves may be the new destination for the pitcher.
Atlanta is looking to strengthen its starting rotation, especially with Max Fried and Charlie Morton becoming free agents, leaving gaps in the pitching staff.
Another development: Reports of Dodgers negotiating new contract with Walker Buehler.
Spencer Strider, still recovering from UCL surgery from the previous year, may not be ready for the Opening Day. The current rotation includes Chris Sale, Reynaldo Lopez, and Spencer Schwellenbach.
There are also several internal candidates for back-end roles, such as Griffin Canning, Ian Anderson, AJ Smith-Shawver, Hurston Waldrep, and Bryce Elder.
“For various reasons, the Braves could be a good fit for him,” Morosi noted, pointing to Buehler’s Kentucky roots and Vanderbilt background.

After sitting out the 2023 season, Buehler made a comeback in 2024, pitching 75.1 innings but struggled with a 5.38 ERA.
Despite a rough start, Buehler bounced back in the postseason, showcasing his talent and resilience when the Dodgers needed it most.
The highlight of Buehler’s postseason performance was in Game 5 of the World Series when he closed out the Yankees to secure the championship for Los Angeles.
Although his strong postseason showing turned heads, Buehler is still considered a candidate for a bounce-back season after his struggles in 2024 due to his recovery from Tommy John surgery.
