The Los Angeles Dodgers‘ next game is set for Saturday as they host Game 1 of the National League Division Series at Dodger Stadium.
The opponent is yet to be determined but it will be either the San Diego Padres or the Atlanta Braves.
Being the top seed in the National League and possessing the best record in baseball this season, the Dodgers have secured home-field advantage for the postseason. They will face the winner of the Wild Card Series featuring the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds.
The San Diego Padres are the No. 4 seed and have home-field advantage for the entire Wild Card Series, which is a best-of-three.
The Dodgers have a 5-8 record against the Padres this season, but they have the momentum after winning two of three and clinching the division against San Diego last week.
In the playoffs last met in 2022, the Dodgers fell to the Padres, ending their season and setting up a new chapter in this year’s postseason.
Although the regular season stats favor the Dodgers, the playoffs are a different ball game. The team is ready to face whatever challenger comes their way in the NLDS.
