Although he faced a defeat on Saturday, Buehler is feeling more confident in his abilities to compete. He acknowledged some mistakes in key moments but remains determined to improve and help the team secure their division lead.
Buehler, now with a 1-6 record, had a solid performance with a season-high nine strikeouts in the recent game. However, he also allowed four runs on five hits and a walk over 5.1 innings.
Despite early struggles, including allowing a leadoff double and a walk in the first inning, Buehler managed to pitch through five innings for the fourth consecutive start. His September ERA stands at 5.06, with a total season ERA of 5.63.
With several injuries affecting the team, Buehler’s role in the postseason will be crucial. He will play a significant part in their playoff success.
