On Saturday, the Los Angeles Dodgers fell short in the second game of their series against the Colorado Rockies, losing 6-3. The Dodgers struggled offensively and missed out on several opportunities to secure the victory.
Despite the loss, the Dodgers have a chance to win the series and maintain their lead over the San Diego Padres in the National League West. Their primary focus is on staying healthy to perform at their best during the playoffs.
Due to injuries in their pitching staff, the Dodgers have relied on pitchers like former All-Star Walker Buehler as the season progresses. Buehler has been able to start games for the team and is working towards regaining his top form.
Although he faced a defeat on Saturday, Buehler is feeling more confident in his abilities to compete. He acknowledged some mistakes in key moments but remains determined to improve and help the team secure their division lead.
Buehler, now with a 1-6 record, had a solid performance with a season-high nine strikeouts in the recent game. However, he also allowed four runs on five hits and a walk over 5.1 innings.
Despite early struggles, including allowing a leadoff double and a walk in the first inning, Buehler managed to pitch through five innings for the fourth consecutive start. His September ERA stands at 5.06, with a total season ERA of 5.63.
With several injuries affecting the team, Buehler’s role in the postseason will be crucial. He will play a significant part in their playoff success.
